When the Stream of Chaos switched from playing in-person to online, I developed an interest in the technical side of live streams.
To teach myself the basics, I made my own overlay and assembled the cast to play on my personal channel.
13th Age by Rob Heinsoo & Jonathan Tweet will forever be my RPG of choice. It combines OGL D20 action with improv story game elements for a super-powered high fantasy experience.
I ran Swords Against the Dead by Gareth Ryder-Hanrahan, which I reckon is the epitome of an introduction to fantasy roleplaying full stop. That’s probably why I slip into teaching mode for the stream – I ran that scenario for countless first-timers at Gamezilla RPG Night.
My virtual tabletop of choice was Astral (sadly now defunct). The platform didn’t yet have support for 13th Age, so I built the template which would eventually become the official character sheet for the system.
