Jasper’s Game Day – Assault on the Dungeon of the Pogonomancer (13th Age)

Jasper’s Game Day / Week was a yearly charity event in aid of suicide prevention, organised around the tabletop game community.

In 2023, I joined Meeples & Dragons‘ six-day run of streams to raise money for the Black Dog Institute.

I ran Assault on the Dungeon of the Pogonomancer, a 13th Age scenario by Gareth Ryder-Hanrahan about an owl-obsessed dwarf wizard and his bizarre beard-based magic.

Instead of rolling for Icon Relationship points as usual, I left it up to the chat to supply them. A donation of $13 would grant an Iconic bonus to one of the party, or add a complication to one they had in reserve.

Donors could instead call in an owl attack on a character, which risked the Pogonomancer getting hold of a hero’s hair sample for his follicle-focused nefariousness…
