Armello: The Board Game

Development Co-ordinator โ€ข 2024

Wrote and edited text for cards and rulebooks, and maintained a style guide.
Managed the game asset database of 400+ cards and other components.
Created and updated playtest packages using nanDeck and Tabletop Simulator.
Collated and implemented playtester feedback and development items.
Presented statistical analysis on game and playtest data.
Created design mockups for graphic and layout artists.

Based on the hit video game by League of Geeks, this adaptation from King of the Castle Games raised over AUD $950,000 on Kickstarter.

I loved exploring the world of Armello through the video game and novellas, and brought that knowledge to designer Rob Heinsoo and developer Jay Schneider during many playtests.

Due to the pandemic halting in-person development, I led a pivot to using Tabletop Simulator and nanDECK for playtesting and rapid prototyping.

As the project progressed, I was able to gradually replace the placeholder assets with the beautiful final components by Dann May and Greg May.

I miss working with Jackson on tabletop game design!

He’s insightful, detail-oriented, listens well, and calm under pressure.

I had the pleasure of working with Jackson on Armello: The Board Game.
He excelled at data organization, data management and data analytics.
This combined with an editor’s eye for text details makes Jackson an excellent final design team member.
I hope to work with Jackson on future projects.
